J & J Adventure - Father and Daughter Finally Together

Posting the pic first, I'll write the story later... be back in a few... just a bit busy...

Ok, so here is the story. I went back to the Philippines for just a few days, precisely to spend time with little J and daddy. So as you can see, it was a "mission accomplished" trip.

I am so happy with everything that happened in Pinas, I would say it is something I dreamed of but didn't expect that would actually happen. Just like this picture, as you can see little J and daddy are now getting along. Finally, its just sad that I have to leave again. I know if they spend more time together they will be more closer. I just love watching them together. This is a dream that I thought will never happen. You see, its slowly becoming a reality and I am just so thankful that God gave as another chance to finally make our family complete.

Before all these, my mom and I had some misunderstanding, so I was crying the whole day. I felt devastated that even on my last day with them, she didn't spare that day to a peaceful family day. My plan is to spend that last day with Mama and little J, but since Mama is still mad at me of course that is not possible. I actually approached her that morning but she still wont talk to me, that's a long story that I'd rather skip.So change of plans.

After I spent the whole day crying, I realized that I was just wasting precious time. Time that I'd rather spend with little J. I don't want to leave with a heavy heart, I want to remember my days in Pinas as "happy times". So little J and I decided to go to SM and just spend the last few hours together happily. We hurriedly bathed and change and off we go to SM San Lazaro. Right before we left the house I received a text message from daddy, begging me to ask mama if she will allow him to send me to airport. I know its not possible (long story) so I told him to just go to SM and we just have dinner together.

So little J and I went to SM, we spent the last day same as how we spent it the first time I left. We first went to arcade and she is just so happy to get all those tickets. I just love seeing her that happy. Those smiles I will surely miss. Then after the games, daddy sent a message saying he is already in our meeting place. So little J and I went down stairs to see daddy. Before this, I talked to little J. I told her, that I wish she will not cry if she see's daddy, that if she is not comfortable with him just don't mind him and remember that its Mommy's last day and I don't want to see her cry. So, as I saw him waiting I literally run towards him and gave him a kiss on the cheek, hoping little J will do the same but didn't. Then we went to eat at Tokyo Tokyo, little J's request, she just loves to eat the tempura breading haha... just the breading. I have to peal off the Tempura, the good part is I get to eat the shrimp. During dinner, little J is still uneasy. She wont talk to daddy, just like before. Well, at least this time she is not crying. So we ate, daddy kept on talking to little J, then after a while she finally answered and soon they we're talking. First time, they actually talked to each other, little J finally respond. Then they started teasing each other, finally they are interacting with each other. Precious Moments, something that I will always keep in my heart. Then we went to Tutti Fruity and got some yogurt, here they continued to play and tease each other. They are so alike, the way they laugh, the way they talk, the way they deliver their punch lines. I am just so happy to see my family finally spend time together happily. Hopefully for days like this in the future.

Design for International School Brunei - Canteen

A very simple design for International School Brunei- Canteen. The existing facade is very simple, no design at all, just a tarp for the Signage is added. This is a low budget project so the owner just wants to spice it up a little and add something to brighten up the place. So I added a drop ceiling in wood veneer with recessed halogen lights. He originally wants some hanging lights but I think it will just add more obstructions to the existing wild wires above. So I opted to cover it up with the drop ceiling and add more lights. To add more color, I added some menu board at the top and above the window.

18lbs gone!

Hi, it's been a while since I posted. Did I mention that I lost 18lbs? I didn't do much, its just the stress and the problems that took the pounds off. I knew I lost a few pounds because my clothes fit me better, but I was shocked to know that it was in fact 18lbs. I was more surprised to actually see it in photo. So here ia s photo of me and little J, taken yesterday. I included an old pic taken a few months ago to compare.Scroll back for my older post to see how much different I look.

J and J Adventure Girls Day!

This day we had a very long and tiring day. J & J adventure is sort of an extended family affair. We went to a baptism today, my cousins's son. Just the girls, my mom, my sil, little J and me. The event eneded at 1pm, so we have the car and we decided to take it for a ride and of course, the more the marrier. We asked my Aunt's to join i with fun. Mama Tess, Mama Gina and Tita Aira. My Aunt's and my 5 year old cousin. So off we went, from Q.C. we went all the way to Fort High Streets, Tita Tess hasn't been there. First stop Contis, eventhough we just came form a feast from the baptism, we just cannot pass on the opportunity that there is no line in front of Contis. So we grab the opportunity to snak on Mango Bravo.

Aira wants to go to rides, bump cars specifically, but of course there is no ride there. So I thought of bringing them to a kids haven. A store full of toys at very affordable prices. I discovered this store a few months ago, when I was supervising some construction work on Krispy Kreme Fort. Its a store full of toys the sme as in Divisoria at same prices, the difference is that there is no dirty muddy streets, no ocean of people around, and aircon. It is called Edengs Toys, so if you are on the look out for very affordable toys or some loots for an upcoming birthday and wants to stay away from the hassle of smelly, dirty Divisoria this is the place to go. A whole bunch of loots already in a set cost onlky Php35 this set already includes a coloring book, pencil, a box of crayon, sharpener and cute eraser.

I bought little J a bunch of clay, a noisy phone toy, pack of 6 of towels at 75 only. Some bubble toys at 10 each, and a set of cute little furnitures for Aira. All in just 200. Cool huh? After that we went to Fort High Streets and off to Kirspy Kreme. WHat do you know! the holight is on. Does all of you know that if the Red Light is on that means you can get FREE newly cooked, original glazed doughnut, the only thing to do is just fall in line. We all got one each, and little J and Aira, much on it in just a few seconds. Another thing all moms should know about Krispy Kreme is that you can have your kids make their own doughnut. It is a lot of fun and they feel so proud of themselves for making one. All stores offer this, you just have to ask!. So the crew asked the manager and the 4 of us, little J, Aira, Tita Gina and me got us a Krispy Kreme paper hat and we are led to the doughnut factory. Little J and Aira got a doughnut each and the crew taught them on how to make a doughnut! They both wore gloves and got one doughtnut each then they dipped the doughnut into the chocolate glaze and put some sprinkles. After that they are so proud of what they have done. If you can only see how their eyes sparkle, again the 2 doughnuts they made are FREE. So that mean we got 5 origianl glazed doughnut free, and additional 2 choco sprinkled doughnuts free. So let your kids experience this and have whole lot of fun and lot of sweet delights to share.

Then we took a ride in the tricyle, its nice all 7 of us fits in it too. Again this is FREE, you may just want to give a tip to the driver. The kids enjoyed it a lot, we just went around highstreets, back to the parking lot. So this is the end of a long tiring but nevertheless FUN Jand J Adventures.

We always go out of town, almost every month and we always check in the hotel, even fif we are just here in Manila so I have a lot of simming shots of little J, but these are my favorite shots of her. Taken when she was jsut 2 years old in Subic, her first beach experience.

Bakunado ka na ba?

Summer is here, that means vacation time for the kids. No classes for 2 months, they can play all day long. Most kids like to play outside, on the streets with all the other kids on vacation. This may be so fun for the kids but I must admit as a mom I am scared to let little J go playing outside. She might get virus that can cause her to be sick. Summer is also synonimous to a lot of sickness, measles, chicken pox and flu. I am so greatful to be part of Nuffnangs Flu awarness event, with the help of Sanofi Pasteur, both of us got a free flu vaccine. I can calm down now and turn off my Paranoia button. I am now glad that me and my daughter is protected with the vaccine. She can play all day, without me getting so worried.

This is the first bloggers event that I joined, it is Saturday and the location is right accross Tiendesitas and Fun Ranch, so I figured we can go to Fan Ranch afterwards and spend the afternoon bonding with little J for another J&J adventures. We we're the first to arrive, so I set up all of little J's paraphernalia. Everything that can make her busy, in case she gets bored. I brought coloring book, game gadget and the laptop. I have my whole complete gear on.

I am so glad to join the event, not only did I got a free vaccine but I also learned a lot about flu. I am so happy to meet the bloggers too, I met teacher Julie, Imom, Cess, Sassy mom and even Aeirin.

Fun Ranch Rediscovered

J and J Adventure- Kids Ahoy Music & Arts Festival

It took a while before I started writing this post. I really want to grab the photos from Kids Ahoy, but I don't know what's wrong only the thumbnails shows up, can't grab the picture, I waited the whole day for it to load. Well, let me just tell you what happend and upload my own pics later.


I am both excited and scared for the Kids Ahoy Music Festival because I joined as an exhibitor, selling products from Sweetytots-Booksale. We are so early, I think we are already there before 8am. I pretty much came prepared. I have my own table, and display rack. I brought 6 boxes of books, I didn't know it was a lot until I layed it all on that table and I can't fit them for display, I had to use the boxes to add some display space. It is my first time to join a bazzar, and I didn't know what to expect. !!!! I hoped for good sales of course but towards half of the day I realized I am not going to get that. By pass lunch time, I still hasn't made any sale yet, other than the finger puppets bought by Teacher A, and the Human Body Activity set bought by the Papae clay exhibitor. Too sad very few came to the event. There are new faces who came it but, I just can't understand why the parents wont buy booksThe kids are looking at my stuff and some are actually reading them already. Lots of kids go to my booth and looked at the books, they really liked it, it shows on their faces how they like those books, I just can't understand why the parents wont buy them. I am just sad that it is the parents that doesnt give imporatance to books. They prefer toys rather than books, urgh!!!

Well, enough for my ranting. I wasn't successful as an entremom, but I belive I was successful as a mom, just by bringing little J tp Kids Ahoy. So eventhough I didn't earn a lot of money, I am still so happy for being there. Towards the end of the event, I didn't even bother looking at my booth, I just enjoyed my time in Kids Ahoy. I think I might have spent more than what I earned but I still had lots of fun.
Little J enjoyed the sand box. She love it so much. They are allowed to be kids and get dirty. They played ran, and threw sand, make volcanos and all. She also love her new found best friend Yona. She kept on asking me if she can give a gift to her, first the coloring book, then the pens, then the headband. I brought a lot of freebies, and since very few bought books, I just gave it out to Yona. Little J spent the whole time playing with her, in the sand box, under the tent, taking photos and playing with her video game. I discovered a lot of precious pictures of Yona in little J's "Psp fake"..

It is obvious that little J had so much fun in the sand box, just by the look of her head, she brought home a lot of sand in her hair. I like the nature keepers class too, I'll talk to little J that she has to join the next Nature keepers class. We accomplished a lot that day, little J is more independent now. She joind and participates in class, not he arm hanging very shy little girl when we first went to Kids Ahoy. Even Teacher A and Mommy J are so happy with her accomplishments. I am so proud of little J

She was so serouis on watching the ballroom dancing presentation, when we got home she asked me if I can teach her to dance like that. Although I didn't earn much on this bazaar, I am so glad for being there. I got to meet other proactive moms and saw their wonderful products. I particularly like Kids Juke Box and Loot Fairy, of course Posh Baby's items too. I inittally reserved "Boots" plush toy for little as a partner for Dora, but she like the talking Dora instead. I ordered a few more items from loot fairy today, and I am saving for the Music CD from Kids Juke Box. I think it cost about 600, so that's for a special occasion, maybe for her birthday!

I made a rule that every Saturday will be J & J Adventure, we spend all day together just the 2 of us. Either we go to the mall or our favorite place Kids Ahoy. We bond while learning to dance the hula, toddler art, or in ther events. I am lookin forward to tomorrows even Music and Arts Festival. Join us, it will be fun!
