New Laptop

I've been thinking if I shoul buy a new laptop, since my mom is going to the US and I can ask her to buy one for me. My cousin bought one just last month and got an HP top of the line laptop, that model usually csot around 90k here and he was able to buy it in the US for just equivalent to 25k. I really don't need a new one right now, but I can just sell my current laptop at half the price, I bougth it for 60k and Im willing to sell it at 30k only. I wanted to buy a Buy MacBook Pro at Gadget Circle, their site layout is very user friendly. Gadgets are categorized accourding to brand which makes it easier to navigate. All products include a picture and a brief description of their features. I'm thinking I coul select a laptop here and have my mom pick it up when she is in the US already, less cost for the shipping right?

Nip and Tuck

Did anyone of you watched Betty La Fea last night? I did, there's a turn of events the leading character Betty, or Bea Alonzo has joined a contest that will change her look. The Ugly Betty, doesn't want to like ugly anymore, she is joining a contest that will surgically enhance her look to be beautiful. Personally, I don't like how the Filipino version of Ugly betty twisted the story. Ugly Betty, should really be ugly, that is the jist of the character and she should only be beautiful inside. The moral of the story should be like this, that how you look should not be the main basis of who you are, hence the old saying "Do not judge the book by its cover". We should not only see a person on how he or she looks, if she's pretty or not, because the main judge of character should be the attitude. A beautiful lady, may not be as kind as Daniella's character. We should alsways look beyond the outer beauty. That is the message that the original character of Betty wants to send out there, so why make her beautiful? It just ruins everything.

Do you know that the famous Celebrity gossip site PerezHilton.com who is allegedly the one that released the gossip Local version of twilight "Takipsilim" is having a pagrank of 7? Cool huh? I went there to see what the fuzz is all about and I was surprised to know a lot of things. Other than the juicy gossips that it is full of, I learned that PerezHilton.com has a PR7 pagrank. Who ever owns that site must have earned so much from it. Not only that, if you want to advertise a textlink, just a textlink. It will cost you a whopping US$1800!!!!!!! What the ....?! Wow! That's a lot of money.

A different kind of Learning

Brightstorm is a different kind of Learning, here high school students will found out that Learning is fun. They offer the most feared subjects, Geometry, Algebra, History and a lot more. I like the way they teach, I could say that it is not the conventional way of teaching, with students stuck to their seat and the teacher writing countless formulas on the board. They teach in a different approach here, something that will not be boring and therefore keep the students awake.

Just take a look at the title of their "Lessons", one title that really caught my eye is this "Algebra II (probably) won't kill you" by Joshuah Thurbel. My instinct was to laugh and instantly I felt comfortable taking the subject. My mind set automatically changed about Algebra. Most students, if not all are afraid of numbers, more so Algebra. In Algebra you will not only encounter numbers but also x and y and many more variable. This puts fear in children's minds, thinking Math, specifically Algebra will be a very hard subject, but on the contrary it is quite simple. We are just reluctant to learn because of the attitude, that back in younger years of 5 and 6 we already heard from a lot of "highschoolers" that this is a very difficult subject, but if we changed that attitude and be comfortable with it we can actually find Algebra to be fun. Do you watch Anime?

My daughter is fond of watching cartoons, she loves Noddy, Handy Manny and Mickey Mouse Playhouse. There are a lot cartoons out there open for watching of toddlers but I always choose the cartoons that my daughter watch. Mostly, I only let her watch Disney Channel, because their cartoons are education and kid friendly. We try to stay away from cartoon netwrok and shows like Tom and Jerry because slapsticks cartoons is not good for viewing for kids. It is not nice to let you kids watch cats thrown in the air or blown up by explosives. These cartoons has too much violence. Another cartoon that I don't like her watching is Spongebob, yes he is cute and very popular but have you really watched a show? The squid is not a nice character, he always has something bad in stored for spongebob, not to mention that spongebob is very stupid. There are a lot of cartoons out there that we as parents should always be aware of the plot, the characters or if this can actually be agood thing for our kids.

Another type of cartoons that are so popular today are animes. There are english versions, and tagalof versions. Kids and adults alike are very fond of this. Teenagers are so into it, that they even buy dvd series of this Animes. I had a draftsman before who always buy dvd's and has tons of posters of Animes, for him its not just cartoons its a lifestyle. There are so many fans that now there is even a chat room for people who love these shows, Free Anime Chat is one of them. I bet he stays up late in those chat rooms too.

Why do we need a lot of friends? I think partly because we always need a boost about our ego, or to just have somebody listen. I have met a lot of Filipina bloggers who met their husbands in chat rooms. Who would think that they can actually find their prince charmings in those chat rooms. Most of them are now residing in the states and happily married to their husbands. Seems like a fairy tale story isin't it? But its true, it is their love story, most of them didn't believe that it is going to happen. That they will find their soul mates in those chatrooms but they did. We are so excited for their upcaoming wedding. All are already set, flowers, gowns, venue, food and decors. It would be very elegant to see the brown and pink decors and gowns. Did this ever happened to you? A white opp in p3 and yet you cannot grab it, because "you do not meet the opportunity requirements" So why is it white in the first place?! Im confused and irritated.. Do you believe that blogging or blogs for that matter is a form of blog marketing? I believe so, a lot of bloggers including me is using this form of media as a way to earn. There are thousands of blogs out there are doing getting paid to blog. In fact this is how I managed to pay for the very big splurge, Christmas gift for my daughter. To be honest, that is the most expensive thing I ever bought. I am a very thrifty person, specially for myself. If its for my daughter little J, I tend to bend or even brake my rules about money. That is why bloggers and advertising has become another way for me to earn money. If not for blogging, I am sure I will not be able to buy such a beautiful gift for my daughter this Christmas. Writing a post on sponsored reviews are not that difficult, most of the time it takes just 3 to 5 minutes of my time to finish a post. This 3 to 5 minutes of my time put all together is earning me quite a decent money every month.I can say that blog advertising is such a great help to striving moms just like me. It is a win-win situation for both the advertiser and the blogger,advertising on blogs is gaining popularity now a days. People are so into internet, techie stuff and everything new. The blogosphere is really a good medium to get heard or be noticed and that is what this advertisers are capitalizing on. Having advertisements or links on blogs are a great milage for them to get noticed, and getting noticed translates to more sales, more sales means better business. This is the in thing now, and will still be the in thing for the comming, onths, and even years. Who knows, blogging maybe a new form of entertainment that will eventually kick out television.

Sit on Santa's Lap

I never got the chance to sit on Santa's Lap. Santa for me, was somebody in a a sleigh flying above the shanties of Manila, at least that's how I pictured him I rember my father telling me a story that whenhe was little he heard some screaching on the streets on a Christmas eve, that made him peeked out the window. He told me that he saw Santa's sleigh flew off the streets of Sampaloc. I believed him, that was his way of making me believe in Santa. This Christmas, the pressure is on me. I'd like like J to believe in the smae fantasy. To be honest, its quite difficult, I believe she is just a little to smart for a 3 year old. I cannot weigh if she believe in Santa, maybe my make belief Santa dropping the gifts is not that convincing. As a little girl I got a wish of catching Santa putting my gift under the tree. It's a fantasy of mine to actually see him put those gifts there. As an adult I think my wish would be to get a digital frame to show case little j's beautiful photos. I love that they will show you hoe easy it is to put photos in those sort of TV through a video of Santa and elf asking you your wish for Christmas. It is really cute, I would love to to it that way too, very modern and techie.

I know I already posted about Holiday frames a few days ago, but I had to go back and check the site again to choose which one to buy. Ever since I started blogging, i became fond of shopping online, I'm always looking for a great item to buy online. I like shopping online because there are just a lot of things that are surprisingly available on the net. What I like most about shopping online is the convenience, and even the price. Some thought that if you buy online it will cost more, on the contrary a lot of things can be bought very cheap from the internet. One of which is this beautiful frames. I am buying this for my mom, my gift for her this coming Christmas. I hope she likes it. I thinks its whimsical design is very catchy, and hip. She likes cool stuff even if she is already in her fifties.
