I mentioned in the Part 2 of Preschool Checklist the importance of training your tots on these skills, but we should always remember that this kids, no matter how smart they are, and how mature they think. (Sometimes I forget about this too) they are still "babies" so we should not stress so much on teaching them this skills. Let us let them enjoy being 2 or 3. Little J always talks to us like adult because that's how we taught her. No baby talk at all. We talk to her with the same respect that we expect from her to give us, but she should still know "who's the boss".
This is the 3rd part of the Preschool Checklist:
Speech and Language
*Speak readily with adults and peers
*Use most sound correctly
*Ask meaning of words
*Use language to joke and tease
*Seek attention, help, and recognition appropriately
*Use quiet voice indoors
*Finish work in a reasonable time
*Listen when others speak
*Volunteer during discussions
