CHRISTMAS 2007

It was a busy day for Mommy.. I did all the cooking... spaghetti, tenderloin in mushroom, Roasted chicken, hamonado.. etc..It was difficult at first because Jea wouldnt let go of me.. Still sick with flu, she is so malambing and would want me to leave her sight. I cant even stand up for just a moment. So I decided to send her to Nicole's house to play, this never fails... So we went there and its good that Nong nong is there too, to look after her. I brought her upstairs to play with all the kids.. but... still she wont let go of me. So I brought her down again to kuya. Finally, I was able to put her down.. I slowly slipped away while she sipped some softdrinks and hurriedly went upstairs to cook.

In less than 5 minutes.. here they are.. crying and looking for me.. so I thought of bringing her to Papa instead and finally she stopped crying. So I went off to cook...

At around 9pm I dressed her up to catch the 10pm mass at UST. We left at 9:30, as we enter the gates she said "mommy's school?!" then Papa asked her... who else's? she said "nong nong!" who else? "Papa" and as we are looking for a parking space. Papa and Jea are amazed of the surrounding.. Jea because of the lights and the fountains.. Papa because.. many things have changed since he went to school in the 70's . That's along time ago.. We parked the car besign UST high right across the Colayco park and as we go down the car I was telling Jea stories about the school, that I use to study there and the Colayco Park was different before, that there were a stage and little huts.. then papa would go on telling that in his time there werr no"Colayco park" just bamboo's not even the UST library was cosntructed back then. The only thing that is left untouched is the "botanical garden".

As we walked to the field Jea saw the huge Christmas Tree and was amazed about how big and it and how much lights it has on. The mass hasnt started yet so Papa and Jea went strolling around the field , reminiscing... They went back right before the mass started. We are half pass the ceremony.. when Jea fell asleep.. so we took turns carrying her.. it was sad we didnt had the chance to take a picture first before she went to sleep. She woke up on our way back home.

Usually we eat Noche Buena first before opening the gifts, but Jea is too sleepy already that we allowed her to open her gifts first.. The first one was Nang nangs gift... it was an ironing set.. ang kuya was teasing her "kabayo..kabayo..kabayo.." refering to the ironing board.. She liked it.. and started playing with it.. Then nong nong gave her another gift.. it was a cooking play set.. with 2 burner stove.. laddles.. pots.. etc.. she liked it so nmuch and dropped nang nang's gift.. I liked it too..I was looking fo something like it but its just too expensive P3000.00 plus and I was suppose to make one for her, but thanks to kuya.. she got it, and according to hi, it wasnt expensive at all.. after that I gave her "Santa's Gift" and also sets for cooking.. a good supplimentary for Kuya's gift.. Then i gave her my gift she likes it so much... " Its a fluffy puppy toy including the cage.. brush..blower..clippers..scissors.. for grooming" she likes it so much.. carries it everywhere...

She asked me to prepare her bed and asked her if she wants to sleep na..and she said "No, play na lang..so I left her on the bed to play. Then, as she played we went to take our Noche Buena.. as we finished our meal. I noticed she's asleep already.. We then went downstairs to greet everybody a merry Chirstmas... Ninong Dindo, To Pe, Ninong Ronnan, all gave their gifts to me for Jea, too bad she's already sleep.

Christmas Party

I think this is the first Christmas that Jea really appreciates.... to start off her Christmas spirit I brought her with me at the office for our Christmast party.. it was Dec. 23... Although a little sick.. from colds and a little fever...she is excited to go with me. Maybe it was just the thought of coming to mommy's new office, or playing with other kids, or simply coz she can stay with Mommy for the whole day. So dressed her up with the pink halter top, the Barbie skirt and blouse set and her new white boots. Fixed up her things.. good for the whole day.. since we are set for 3 parties for that day. The Christmas Party marathon.. as I call it.

First stop, SCCP Christmas Party. We were late, got at the office at around 9:00 am. On our way to the office I told her about our activities for the day. She didnt care about the Christmas Parties all the mattered to her is that we are going see nang nang Pau later that evening. I told her we are goin to the office. Passing through Roxas Blvd., she asked me if we can go SM fisrt before going to the office.. I dont even know how she knew that we are near SM Mall of Asia, maybe the sorroundings are familiar to her.. maybe she remembered the way ( at 2 she can already be a navigator going to the mall hehehe).

It took us a little longer to get out of the car since we have to put back her shoes on, coz she took it off while on the road.. and im still doing my last minute gift wrapping. As we enter the office, she alreadr saw the litlle girl in pink.. my officemates kid.. so I introduced them to eachother. Her name is Xena, Jea smiled and went to talk to her gave her chocolates. They played around and talked to eachother. So it thought this is going to be easy.. but I was wrong as soon as my boss got in she immediately went to my side and said "mommy..mommy..mommy." as if saying.. dont leave me..im scared. So I introduced her to my boss and his kids.. but she still scared and from that moment.. nobody else can go near her.. and if we got separated for just a meter.. she would call on me.. We didnt get to join the games.. and we didnt even get to eat comfortably.. Oh.. no...tantrums!

The party ended at around 1pm. I wanted to fetch Pau or Mama first so that I could have someone to help me with Jea. But they are both busy.. PAu withblast minute shopping and Mama in another Party. So I have no choice but to bring her along the next party. Im afraid it wouldnt be nice for her..its a Contractors Party for Krispy Kreme where all of the attendees are male (and she's so afraid of guys) since she hasnt been around with lots of guys. The only male figure she knows is Papa and kuya. I just have to take the risk.. the venue; billiard hall at Q.C. To my surprise, she is more relaxed there and she is not afraid at all, I introduced her to Arch. Larry and the rest of the architect and engineers. She had fun watching the game.. Saying "shoot" for every ball that goes in the pocket. She was like the special guest, they all like her.. she got the prize which is originally for the winners of the game. She got a box of donut, a souvenir cup, and some other gifts. She also ate a lot of rice.. It was already pass 5pm when we left... and we are off to our 3rd party.

We are now going to Nang Nang PAu's house, although excited she doze off to sleep while in the car.. too tired for all the partying... hehehe.. She woke up as soon as we arrived at Pau's house. Then we went to Neo China Town, and had dinner at bitoy's its such a nice place and the food was great. Kare-kare, Bulalo, Sisig, etc. We also did a little shopping, Pau bought her a nice dress which she chose.. specifically saying she likes it in blue. She didnt eat much.. but the rest of us did.. after dinner we went to Aseana for Starbucks.. and she ran and played..

It was a fun full day for us.. as we arrived home she asked me if she can open Pau's gift for her.. she had another one wrapped.. I said no, its not time yet. you should open in on Christmas.. and she made faces.. and asked again.. Pwede Christmas Party nalang? Knowing that today is the Christmas PArties.. she can open it todayif I say yes.. and all of us laughed at her.. such an intelligent baby.. she is even trying to trick me.. realizing she cant... she just smiled...

Mommy's Birthday!!!

Aug. 1, 2007
Its my birthday and I decided to treat Jea to a day of fun and adventures, so we went to Fun Ranch. I've always wanted to bring her there since I too is so curious about the place. All I know is that its like a mini amusement/ mall that kids will love. We went with Nangnang Pau and Mama. As soon as we entered the establishement, Jea run and explored the surroundings, there are musical instruments, slides, carousel and many other things that children would be so amazed. We ate at a pasta place, I forgot the name. The food was great and there are little tables and chairs for children to color some illustrations. Too bad, the crayons are sub standard, you wont even see color as you write it down, just a very light tint of it. So we ordered pasta and pizza, both are so good. The waiters serves the water in a crystal goblet that made us so jumpy that Jea might break it. But, the very well trained baby, ate pizza and drank the softdrink with ease, without breaking the glass and without making any mess. She would occassionally stare outside whenefer the stuffed wallking animals would pass by.

After eating, we went straight to the carousel, at first I thought she already overcome her fears since I seated her on the hore without hesitation. But, as soon as the carousel moved round and round her, she hold on to me tighter and tighter until she cried and went to me to carry her. She's still afraid, but at least she tried.
Then we went to the other shops, roam around and crossed the hanging bridge. Jea wasnt afraid at all, the height didnt bother her at all not even when the bridge moved. On the other hand, Mama was too afraid to cross, but when she saw Jea did it, she went to go for it, she managed to cross but we can see that she's terrified.
We also, rode the train around the ranch, Jea like the train trip, she waved and blow kisses to mama and nangnang as we pass them by. Then, it started to drizzle, she didnt mind.. she just said.."mommy, raining!" with a giggle at the end. After the train, we went to the video center, she didnt looked at the other machines, but on our way out she saw this machine that has a pretty character that talks. She stayed there as if, she is actually controlling the buttons. The game is to change the dress of the characters and she like it so much. Baby pa lang "fashionista na!"

Missing my baby

I am all alone in our Laguna house, very tired from the full day's work. I wanted to sleep but i cant. Jea is in my mind, although I just saw her this morning and I'll see her by tomorrow afternoon, I still miss her so much. Its really hard sleeping without her by my side. I can already imagine tomorrow as I wake up, I will not see her angelic face beside mine, or I may over sleep since she will not be there to wake me up. This really sucks!!! I really cant stand not having her around. I miss her so much that I imagine her talking to me. Saying all the cute stuff she would say when she sees anything interesting. She would say "mommy cat" or "big dog, big dog" or "tita jing's house?". Before she sleeps she would ask me to lie down beside her, and she will only take her bottle if I was the one giving it to her. She would say "ayaw!" when yaya hands it over. Then when she's sleepy already, she will ask "mommy? baby pooh?" her pillow. Then she will point to my pillow and say "mommy! big pooh". When she finished her milk she would say "no more.... mommy, hawak" and she hands the empty bottle to me. Then hugs me and close her eyes. I, on the other hand would say "Mommy.. love you.. nytnyt baby!" Then she will say, "mommy, darling.." asking me to sing the lullaby..

I miss you so much baby!!!! "love you! nyt nyt!"

sleep my darling jea..
jea, will go to sleep..
sleep my darling jea..
jea, will go to sleep..
sleep na and baby ko..
sleep my darling jea..
sleep my darling jea..
jea will go to sleep

Turning 2: Birthday Blues

Jea's turning 2 on thursday June 7, 2007.... up until now I still dont know how we will celebrate it.

  • Option 1 is to just have a family dinner with the immediate family and go to the Big Red Barn for some treats and tricks. Ive heard that its like a giant play pen with rides, mascots and lots of treats for kids.
  • Option 2 is to spend a simply and leisurely vacation with the family maybe in Canyon woods or just check-in in a hotel somewhere. No food preparations, no games and most importantly no mess. we can just go swimming so that jea can enjoy.
  • Option 3 to have a simple birthday party at home, simple food, simple games, simple preparations. The operative word being SIMPLE.
  • Option 4 to have a birthday party in a fastfood chain maybe in Mcdo or Jollibee. No worries we will just show up and the party will start.

After all the contemplating, I ended up setting a Simple Home Party on the 7th for the Espino Clan and a McDonalds Kiddie Party on June 10 with Valerio Family. Its really hard to please everybody......

But if I were to choose I'd rather go with Option 1 - Its Jea's birthday anyway, if there is somebody who should be pleased and happy it would be her. This is the best option that I know she will have lots of fun and lasting memories.

Cute routines

When she wants to drink milk:

1. Ask "mommy me-melk?"
2. If I didnt respond she would say "Ate me-melk?", "Mama me-melk?" and so on
3. She will say that over and over and over again "mommy me-melk" until the bottle is in her hand.
4. As soon as she gets the milk she will say "Mommy... ga... higa" asking me to lay down beside her.
5. She then scratches her hears until she goes to sleep.

Sometimes she would ask for pooh first, her pillow or sometimes she would ask for a 2nd or a 3rd bottle.

When she wakes up in the morning:

As soon as she wakes up she will wake up everybody beside her, most of the time that me and mama.... and as we open our eyes she will have that bright smile on her face and say "eat rice!!" she's hungry and asks us to cook breakfast.

As she stands up and kiss us, she would say "Papa" "up", pertaining to papa and that she will go and wake him up. with the 2nd call "Come, mommy" "papa...up" climbs up the stairs with the very wide grin on her face and knocks on papa's door. She would say...papa....knock..knock... papa..knock..knock... as her opens the door,, she would scream "papa"...

We then goes down and as we set the table, she will make a cup of coffee for papa. Getting a teaspoon of coffee, milk and sugar (of course being guided by papa) then stir it all together. After breakfast she will automatically get Papa's vitamins and get 1 capsule. Put it in her hands and turn it arounf and around.. as if doing magic, then pass it to her other hand. Most of the time she would drop it and just laugh. After that its her turn to take her vitamins and she will take it both without hesitation.

Bath Time

She knows this by heart, i dont even know how she knows what time is it but by exactly 8:30 am she would go to me and say "ligo...ligo"...."bath...bath" while scrubing her head. No matter what, we have to go and take a bath, this is the one thing that i cant her out to wait just a little, coz sometimes or most of the time im in a middle of something when she calls for bath. She will pull your hands to go up the stairs.. sometimes she even gets her towel and dress just for me to follow her. She really loves the water, she loves bathing and swimming.

Additional Secret Codes and Translations

Here are a few more of her secret codes:

pop-pop = laptop
inan = unan
akdo = Mcdo
mok = gamot (pertaining to her rash ointment)
yuck = truck
ko-kok = chicken (from ko-ko-ro-kok)
pa-pers = diapers

I will not list down other words that she knows, basically she can say every word she hears.

Keeping Promises

The whole family went to go shopping to Greenhills, and on our way there I told Jea that we are going to go shopping and mommy will buy her shoes. We arrived very late, around 7:30 pm, and we used another 15 mins to park our car. When we get in, we went straight to the cellphones area coz mama has to buy one. I, on the other hand had my cellphone repaired. In short we all forgot about jea's shoes until the store closed down. We went home as usual, not thinking that jea( she was just 1 and 1/2 yrs old then) was contemplating about the shoes that I promised her.

On our way home, we noticed that she kept herself awake but very quite, very unsual for her. Most of the time she would be asleep at that time of the night and most especially while riding a car. But she didnt sleep, kept herself awake until we get home.

As soon as we got home, as I put her down on the sofa she looked at me and said

Wa?! Shoes?!...
Wa?! Shoes?!...

With a very demanding tone. She was looking for the shoes that I promised her, that's the time that I learned that she REALLY listens, she really listen and understood everything that I tell her. She was asking why I didnt keep my promise. I was very guilty and at the same time proud. Guilty because I didnt kept my word and proud because at that very young age she knows how to listen, she understood, and most importantly she knows that every promise has to be kept.

The next morning, we went back to greenhills and bought her shoes, and a bonus new toy . This is a lesson for me. I have to keep my promises or I'll go broke.

Very First Movie

Mama (jea's grandmom) wants to see how jea would react on watching movie, she has never been in a movie house and we dont know if she's ready. She's only 1 and 11months. We first planned to take her to spiderman 3 movie, but we are glad we didnt, she would have cried the whole time with the loud sound effects and horrifying characters. The next movie would be Shrek 3, and we thought it would be perfect, its like cartoons only in the big screen. Weeks before we already introduced her to Shrek by buying Mcdo happy meal toys. We got her Shrek and Fiona charcter toys, and she liked it so much, so we thought she is ready.

Its monday and our planned first screening for jea. We went to watch in shangri-la, a whopping P170 per ticket, she should like it coz it would be just a waste if she would cry and force us to leave the movie. We have imagined her that as soon as she enter the movies she would say...

Mommy......mumu!!!!Light...light... turn on light....Pleaseeeeee!!!

And we were right, as soon as we entered the door she said exactly what we thought she would say. On the way to the mall I already explained to her the it will be dark, and she should not be afraid, that there is no such thing as "mumu".

Going to our seats was no problem, there was 3 seats one for each of us, Mama, Mommy(Me) and Jea. At first she liked it and played with her seat as it goes down when she pushed and automatically folds up as she released it. But when the lights were turned off, she also automatically reached for me and sit on my lap. If only we could buy only 2 tickets since we know that this would happen....

We didnt buy any snacks no popcorn nor drinks, since we know that this could be troublesome. We dont know if she would throw the popcorn to others or just poured it to herself. Instead we opted to take snacks before the movies. We ate at wham burger and she only ate fries. It was funny that she liked it so much that she ate fries one after the other even if its still hot. Every bite, she would say hot!!! but continued on chewing them, dipping it in too many ketchup before taking another bite.

When the movie started, our adventure also started, we would watch her every move and every reaction, we like to know if she will like it or get scared. We would like to see if she can already understand or at least react on the scenes. Yes, she may be too young to understand, but jea surprise us in so many things. Theres a lot of things that she can do that baby her age still cannot. She's so advanced that mama even thinks she's gifted. And surprised us she did!!! She understands, and react on every scene, when the villain came she would ber scared, when the scene is funny she woulf laugh. At first it was ok, she enjoyed it but after 15mins she said "finished" pointing to the direction out. Maybe she got bored, maybe she got scared, or maybe she just doesnt like the big green thing on the screen. And she did that every 5mins. We tried to convice her to wait and it will be over soon, and the smart and nice girl she is she would say "opo", "ok", "wait jea". and so finally after every "finished?" the movie ended. But the fun didnt stop there.

Since it was her first time to watch a movie, I took pictures to document the event. When we went out to the lobby I asked her to pose beside the poster of shrek and she did. Then as we go down the stairs I took another picture, after her 3 shot I told her that we are ready to go, and she wasnt!!!? She wanted more shots, and she posed, she decides on her pose, and everybody was amazed and how good she posed, she know what to do, what angle would be good for her, some of the people are already looking at her and she didnt mind. She just posed, smiled, and looked pretty. That's all she wanted.

Its not the movie that she liked its just the photoshoot. I can already imagine what her dreams would be. I think she's going to be a model.... but then again...there is a lot of other things that she is good at...

Ill post the pictures some other day......

Jea the Architect

I was based in Laguna to supervise some of my projects, so i had no choice but to bring jea with me. With the absence of her yaya (not that i mind not having them, i think its even better now that they are gone), I have to attend to jea's needs, do the chores, drive for mama, and of course work. So our routine was to drive mama to office at 6am and eat breakfast as fast as we could when we get home, clean up the house then go straight to the shower and hurriedly drive to work. We have to do all that in a span of 1 1/2 hours. Its good that I can work in the office and not to physically supervise at the site. We draft some plans in my laptop, attend meetings, do estimates and look after jea at the same time. We did that for 4 days, thank god my baby is a little scared of the workers so she would behave in the office. She met new playmates, kuya poy is her favorite, and like the slide in the playground. She also like watering the plants and washing dishes.

Its really an exusting 4 days that we spent in Laguna, but its also such a fun time. Experiencing simple life, away from the chaotic Manila life. Bonding time with jea. I can rest now, as i spend 3 days in Manila, next wednesday we will do it all over again.....

My baby's addiction to Wowowee

A few days ago.. when there was nothing else to do.. we were just watching tv. And as i was surfing the tv channel she asked be to turn it to "wow..wee...wee" on a very demanding note, and she even told me to

"lipat!!!!! two... twoooo!!!!"

I tried to tell her that I cant, its already 4pm and no matter what magic I do, I cannot make Willie Revillame -host of the Wowowee show- to appear on tv. But of course its not easy for a baby like her to understand that, she kept on insisting for me to turn the channel to 2. I tried to tell her.. I tried diverting her attention.. I tried giving her milk.. but she is really persistent. She started to get mad, and thought i just dont want to give in to her demands. She started making faces, and that "tampo" look in her eyes. Nothing stopped her from wanting to see "woweewee" until she started kicking me and then cried. I tried to comfort her, but she continued crying, then she started singing.. doo...doo..doo...dah...dah...dah...ah..hah..hah..

The whole experience is really funny and amusing. That a tv show matters so much to her. This is just one evidence on how much "Wowowee" touches each and every Filipinos lives. This only shows that Willie really touches the heart of those who watch the show...even the most little ones that doesnt even understand the concept of the show.

say "love you mommy!"

We were hanging out together just watching tv and eating tons of gelatin, i thought of recording her voice, just anyhting she will say. I realized this is also one of the ways that i can forever keep her memories as a baby.. So i asked her to sing.. and she sang.. i asked her to count and she counted.. i asked her to say lots of other thing.. and she did.. but when i asked her to say "love you mommy!" she didnt say a word.. she just kept silent but automatically hugged and kissed me, as if saying,
mommy i dont have to say it, just look into my eyes, feel my touch and listen to
my heart..

From that I realized, i dont have to record her voice. Her voice, her memories, will be forever in my heart just like how she stores her feelings for me in her heart.

for my little baby this is whats inside my heart, i dont have to say it outloud
its forever and ever will be screaming I LOVE YOU!!!
