Fieldtrip Ocean Adventure Part 1

I just came back from a tour, its my daughters field trip. We went to Ocean Adventure in Subic Bay Free Port. Along with about 40 other kids and their parents we all rode a bus going there. The trip going to Subic alone took almost 4 hours, It about 11am when we got there, and to think we left the school at 7am. We had a very jolly tour guide, I liked her because she was able to make the kids listen to her. We had games, and even lessons in the bus. We learned a lot of trivia too. Like this one about "SM". She asked us, what does "SM" stands for? ("SM" is the largest shopping mall chain all over the Philippines, in fact they already have several branches abroad.) All of us answered "Shoemart", because the original store is a shoe shop, which was called "shoemart", but to our surprise we are wrong. "SM" doesn't stand for "Shoemart" but "S" for "Sy" for Henry Sy, the owner of shopping mall chain, and "M" for "Mendiola" which is Mr. Henry Sy's code name. All in all it was fun, but a very tiring trip. I wish I wore 5.11 Tactical Pants, I believe it will be really useful, especially if you always have to run after your 3 year old toddler, which wallet on you hand and water jug on the other one, and camera to take photos. Wearing this pants with a lot of pockets will be really helpful

Dolly that poops!

BABY ALIVE LEARNS TO POTTY Doll is one gift on every girls list. It's easy to use you just press the charm on her bracelet and she "wakes" up. You mix her food with her special spoon and she even "chews" it. And since she’s “potty training”, she’ll also let you know when she needs to go. Better hurry, though! Put her on the potty and she’ll “pee” and “poop”. But if you don’t get there in time, you might hear her say, “Oops. I had an accident!” Change baby’s messy diaper and she’ll be happy once again.

What to love about Three yr olds

As strong willed and opinionated as twos (sometimes more so), threes grasp the concept of taking turns even if they don't always want to do it. Sometimes we have to get hold of ourselves to try not to be the wicked mother.

Just so smart! Threes can follow multistep directions. ("Go upstairs, find Mom's book, and bring it here.")

Becoming an individual Kids' unique characteristics really start to surface at 3, says Jennifer Walker, coauthor of The Moms On Call Guide to Basic Baby Care. "Are they bossy or shy? Itching to explore or content to sit? At 3, they give you a pretty good idea where they're headed." At that age, for example, my son, A.J., was developing into the class clown (never mind that he wasn't part of any class yet) -- always cutting up, wanting to be the center of attention. At the same age, his sister Mary Elena loved to sit quietly and play with baby dolls, content with her own company.

Fanciful thinkers A whole world of make-believe opens up at 3, Hobson says. "It's a much more complex level of play than at 2. A piece of string isn't just a string anymore. It can be a dog's leash or a snake. My twins recently spent an entire afternoon pretending to take the dog for a walk -- taking turns being the dog." Threes will chatter to themselves, get lost in fantasy play with a toy castle or workbench, and mimic their favorite TV characters or superheroes. (I have a friend whose 3-year-old son spent at least six months being Superman.)

Real conversations New York City mom Kelly Ramirez noticed that her daughter Sophia had a marked increase in vocabulary from 2 to 3: "We have these long chats in the car on the way to preschool." Since the family is bilingual, Sophia's wordplay can get pretty complicated. "Whenever she's talking to me and feels I'm not understanding her, she throws in a few Spanish words to emphasize her points."

Goodbye Babyhood, Hello Childhood

While rearing a child at any age is no snap, things should get easier during the third year. Most 3-year-olds can be reasoned with. They will take turns and may even share toys. A child in this age group will help the parents get him or her dressed. Most are toilet trained during the day, although it is common for an occasional "accident" while busy playing. In previous generations, moms and dads learned what to expect of their child from their mother, grandmother or another family member. Today, most families are so scattered that parents do not have this help available. Therefore, do not hesitante to ask any questions you might have about your child's growth and development during the three year checkup. This is the reason for regular well-child exams.

Parenting and Behavioral
The 3-year-old will ask more questions than a district attorney. Nothing is sacred and some questions will throw you for a loop!
Continue reading books to your child.
Arrange times for safe running and exploring outdoors.
Playmates are important. Allow your child to experience interaction with peers. Three-year-olds are usually quite social and enjoy being with other 3-year-olds. This can be accomplished in a preschool, play group or just having another child over for a few hours.
It is normal for children this age to have imaginary friends. Parents can sometimes use the youngster's imaginary "playmate" to their advantage (like getting your 3-year-old to do something you want them to do.)
Limit television viewing. Do not use the TV as a baby sitter or as a substitute for interaction with your child. Watch children's programs with your child when possible.
Do not worry if the child becomes curious about body parts. This is normal at this age. Always use the correct terms for genitals.
Children this age begin to recognize gender differences and will correctly say "I am a girl" or "I am a boy."
Discipline should be firm and consistent, but loving and understanding. Praise your child for his or her good behavior and accomplishments.
Three-year-olds like to do things for themselves.
The 3-year-old does not understand "tongue-in-cheek" comments and can not always tell when a parent is joking. For example, never threaten to leave a child at the store when he or she misbehaves.
Your child may continue to use a security object (such as a blanket, favorite stuffed toy, etc.). This is normal and the youngster will give up the item when he or she is ready.
Keep family outings short and simple. Children have a short attention span at this age and lengthy activities will cause them to become irritable and tired.
The question of preschool usually comes up now. Daycare has already been established for a family when both parents work outside the home. Even for moms who stay at home with their child, preschool a few mornings a week can be helpful. It gives mom a welcome break and provides the child an opportunity to meet new friends. The success or failure of preschool will depend upon the child's maturity and the quality of the preschool. For example, if your child seems anxious and dependent away from home, perhaps he or she is not ready for preschool.
If you are expecting another baby, discuss with your child's physician how to prepare your 3-year-old.

Encourage your 3-year-old to make choices whenever possible, but the choices should be limited to those you can live with ("red shirt or green shirt.") Never ask a toddler an open question ("Do you want to take a bath") unless you are willing to accept the answer.
Use the two "I's" of discipline (ignore or isolate) rather than the two "S's" (shouting or spanking). When disciplining, try to separate the child and his or her behavior ("I love you, but I do not like it when you touch the VCR.").
Provide alternatives. "No, you cannot play with the telephone, but you can play with these blocks."
Avoid power struggles. No one wins! The 3-year-old still uses temper tantrums as a weapon. Respond to this behavior with the two I's of discipline - ignore or isolate (time out!).
Discipline should be consistent. Do not make threats that you can not carry out. If you say you are going to do something, do it!

Can name pictures in a book.
Names at least one color.
Knows his or her own name, age and sex.
Begins to use pronouns.
Able to put on his or her own shirt, but will need help with shoes and buttons.
May be able to ride a tricycle.
Can jump in place and stand briefly on one foot.
Can (unfortunately!) open doors.
More than 50 percent of the child's speech is intelligible. There may be temporary episodes of stuttering during this time.
Understands such words as "cold," "tired," "hungry." Comprehends the meaning of "on or under", and "bigger or smaller."

Oral Health
Supervise brushing twice a day with a small amount of fluoridated toothpaste.
Take your 3-year-old to the dentist, if you have not already done so.
Limit juice and sweets.
Continue giving a fluoride supplement if your drinking water is not fluoridated. Some dentists recommend fluoride be continued through age 8; others recommend continuing through age 12 or 16. Check with your pediatrician and dentist.
Stop pacifier use

Appetite is perhaps a shade better than it was a few months ago, but it is still not what most parents (or grandparents) think it should be. "My child will not eat," is a familiar complaint heard at the three year checkup. Remember, feeding problems may arise if parents make their child eat more than the child needs to, or shows too much concern in what the youngster eats.
The 3-year-old should pretty much be able to feed himself or herself.
During meal time, the 3-year-old is sometimes very demanding of parent's attention and may also dawdle!
Avoid nuts, hard candy, uncut grapes, hot dogs or raw vegetables. Control sweets and avoid junk food.
Eat dinner together as a family whenever possible.
Begin to teach proper table manners and encourage conversation during family meals.
Turn the TV off during meals.
Make sure your child's caregiver is following your feeding instructions.

An afternoon nap is usually still needed by the 3-year-old.
Fears of the dark, thunder, lightning, etc. are quite common at this age.
Maintain a consistent bedtime and bedtime routine. Using a night light, security blanket or toy are all ways to help lessen nighttime fears.
Read to your child when possible before "lights out."
Nightmares can wake a child up from sleep. The nightmares can be triggered by changes or stress. Reassure your child and put him or her back to bed.

Toilet Training
Many 3-year-olds are trained during the day but still do not stay dry at night. Others are completely trained. Remember, the age a child uses the bathroom by himself or herself varies and it is based only on a child's readiness to be trained and the positive attitude of the parents.
Avoid putting too many demands on the child or shaming him about wearing diapers. Instead, let your child no how proud and happy you are about any potty successes.
Some children may postpone having a bowel movement as a way to manipulate their parents or because they are busy doing something else. Try not to make an issue of this.

Responsibility for accident prevention will gradually shift to your child as he or she grows older. It is still necessary for parents to keep dangerous and poisonous items out of their 3-year-old's reach and protect him or her from other indoor and outdoor hazards.
Insist that your home and car be smoke free.
Begin to teach your child his or her full name, address and phone number
If bicycling, teach safety rules and insist on helmet use.
Continue to use proper car safety restraints in the back seat of every car trip. A 3-4 year old child (once 40 lbs. or over) is safest using a belt-positioning booster seat. The greatest risk to your child's health continues to be motor vehicle accidents. Remember, it is impossible for you to protect your child during an accident by just holding him or her.
Always walk behind your car before backing out of the driveway.
If your home uses gas appliances, install and maintain carbon monoxide detectors.
The purchase of a trampoline is not recommended because of the risk of serious injury.
Keep firearms out of the home or in a locked, out of sight container, unloaded
Pools must be gated. Knowing how to "swim" does not make a child water- safe at this age. Never leave a child unattended in a bathtub, even for a few seconds. Ensure your child wears a life vest if boating.
Be careful of items that can be left a counter level elsewhere, such as knives, scissors, cleaning agents, nail polish remover, household repair items, weed killers, insecticides, gasoline, oil, kerosene, lighter fluid and all medicines. Always keep potentially poisonous things in the original containers. Never put poisons in food containers or bottles.
There is no such thing as a "child proof cap." Ingestion of toxic substances is common at this age. Keep syrup of Ipecac in the home to be used only as directed by your child's doctor or the poison control center.
Never buy toys or other objects that can cut or ingested. Suffocation by plastic bags and balloons still occurs at this age.
Always supervise when your child is playing near a street. Remember, a 3-year-old child does not understand danger or remembers "no"; your child cannot be counted on to be aware of outside hazards.
Be especially careful when using power lawn mowers and other power tools.
Never leave a child unattended in a car or a house.
Test smoke detectors to ensure they are working properly.
Continue to use a water proof sunscreen on your child before going outside. Avoid the hours between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. when the sun is the most dangerous.
Advise your 3-year-old to be careful around strange dogs, especially ones that are eating.
Begin to teach your child not to talk to strangers.

Your 3-year-old may continue to experience respiratory infections, such as colds, ear infections and sinus infections. These frequent ailments often become frustrating for parents. Unfortunately, most illnesses are unavoidable, especially if your child is in preschool or has older siblings who bring the colds home from school.
When your child is ill, the pediatrician will determine whether antibiotics are needed. Remember, most illnesses at this age are viral, which means antibiotics will not shorten the course of the illness is a unique Web site tailored specifically toward the concerns and interests of today's parents. What if your ex says...

I got this very interesting tag from Vannie, as soon as I saw the title I got so intrigue already.. So here are my answers...This may sound very heartfelt, but true..

He says...Why did you let me go?
:::I didn't, you did. And if it appears to you that I did, it's maybe because I thought you are not worth it. I still don't know if I am right about that, sometime I still wonder what if I stuck with you.. but then again, i think it turned out better this way:::

He says...Can I win you back?
:::Oh yes, definitely, but be sure that you are 100% sure about that, and will take me and our daughter with all the responsiblities that come with it. For better or for worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health... So help me God! LOL!:::

He says...But I am very much happy with you back then.
::: Yes I know, I was too. To bad you chickened out, you could have experienced the wonderful feeling of being a dad to our daughter. You are missing a lot!:::

He says...I still love you.
:::Really? So why all this happened?! I've waited for years to hear that, and I thought I would say the same thing. But I'm just not sure anymore, I am happy now, we are happy now, me and your daughter, even if I do love you still, I am sad to say that I dont need you anymore!:::

He says...When did we last talk?
::: A year ago, when you first met your daughter, dont worry she doesn't remember you anymore and I intend to keep it that way:::

He says...Can you go out with me?
::: Yes, I'd love to, its nice to have a chat of what have you been up to all these years. I bet you are so busy with your life, too busy not to see our kid:::

He says...Hey,can i give you/ask for a ride?
::: No thank you, I am perfectly capable myself.:::

He says...Were you able to move on?
::: I am not sure, maybe not yet.. but I will. As I've said I am happy now, I still love you, but I am happy without you:::

He says...I regret losing you.
::: You should! I am the only good thing that ever happend to you. I am pretty sure you will not end up like a worthless scum bag as you are now if you didn't lose me. So could have finished your studies and be called an Architect, just like me. With a lot of confidence and self worth:::

He says...My parents do not like you.
::: I dont think so.. your father practically begged me to take you back in hopes that I can turn your life around, but you are really stubborn and self righteous:::

He says...You have changed.
::: ....Yes, I've changed a lot. So much that I dont even know who I have become, all because of the trauma you have caused me, but nevertheless grateful that you gave me the best gift you can ever give my daughter:::

I am tagging Enchie, Aeirin, Sherry, Jes, and Chris, Dhadha

The Wonders of Learning

I found this in, it so beaqtiful that I'd like to share it to all of you.

The Wonders of Learning

We all know just how fast time flies. And we all know kids grow up just as fast. To those who work, unable to spend as much time with their little ones, time seems to fly even faster. For me who does freelance stuff, it is no different. Although I spend a lot of time with my little girl, it still amazes me how fast they not only grow up but learn things as well.

Reb just started school last June but learning seems to be at leapfrog rate. Although she already knows much when she started school (thank goodness she was allowed to skip nursery), I'm still awestruck that this little tyke has evolved from that little baby to an honest-to-goodness kindergarten student.

Since her Ninang Diane gave her a Bible for starters last December, we read a chapter every night. We then start again once we finish the book. Now what I do is to let her end the sentences herself. She has also started reading so I let her read not the titles (she knows these by heart) but words within the story. Call me shallow but it makes me real proud to hear her read. It's a feat for me. What can I say?

Last week though, she has gone back to drawing. Now she draws herself and her classmates too, not just her, me, Wowo and Wowa. Once she was busy doing something in her study table. No complaints for me there. Anything to keep her still and quiet is more than welcome for me. When she finally rose from her little world there, she handed me a piece of paper which read:

She wrote it all by herself, relying on sounds to write the word LAVS. I was probably too touched to cry. I just said, "Awww, thank you baby!" Smiling with pride, she then wrote something again.

I had to ask for her help on this one, particularly the last word. She said, "Love me for caring..." Apparently she forgot what she was suppose to write after that.

Days after she was unstoppable. I then try to correct her spelling in a pace which I hope is just right for her level. She wrote a thank you note: "TCQW TIA TIA TINI LOVES MI" which translates to "Thank you...Tita Trining loves me". Her spelling skill is still in its infant stage but I would say she has reached the texting level.

During those milestones, I realized just how happy it makes her to hear me say that I am proud of her. It is such a simple thing to say but come to think of it, it is something that uplifts the spirit of anyone, young or old.

I am also very careful though not to supersede her teachers by running away with my excitement to see her accomplish more. Inasmuch as I want people to respect my being her mother, I also must give that respect to her teachers for they know better how to teach her the basics. I would not want to preempt how and what they will teach her, lest I sow confusion in her.

More importantly, I try to be very conscious of the fact that although teaching is primarily the responsibility of our noble educators, parents have the responsibility to learn how to mentor their kids at home. It is like learning all over again for me, but this time it's because of my little girl. I want to make sure I complement the efforts of her teachers especially if they are doing a wonderful job. It did not escape my attention that for someone who just started school a month ago, I commend her teacher for helping her build that interest in learning. Before she started school, I did not force the issue of starting to learn how to read or write. When she showed interest in something, I follow through. Yet I could not deny the fact that I am not trained in basic education so I tried to be very careful in mentoring her while she hasn't started formal schooling. Right or wrong, I would like to think it worked for her and me. She seems to be doing well in school.

Being proud of your kids' accomplishments is one thing. Being part of their learning is another thing. The latter is much harder to do if you are not an educator by profession or if you are also working. I believe though that taking the time to find out how to complement studying in school and studying at home makes a whole lot of difference. It's not only bonding time with your kids that you accomplish. You also inculcate in them that learning doesn't have to be a burden they will carry alone. That you are in this together. I guess it makes learning a little less daunting for them if they know we are behind them all the way. Most of all, you also get to know your child and his/her abilities yourself and not just rely on what the teacher and the report cards say. Later in their school life, this knowledge just might come in very handy when you start feeling that they may be falling a little bit short of what you would have wanted them to be...or when you think they are not going the direction you would have wanted them to take.

I have to lose 20 lbs.

I wish I can find a Flat Belly Diet that is good enough to make me lose 20lbs by next month. I know, I cannot do a crash diet, but I really have to lose weight before December 21. Its my brother's church wedding and I am the maid of honor. I already have my gown, its nice, but I myself got shocked on how big it it. Its huge, twice as wide as my gown in my 18th birthday. I know I should not be comparing my body to what I looked almost 10 years ago but it is just so big. I torso part is very wide, wide enough to fit two 3 year old kid inside. It is scary, but that's what happens when a mom neglected herself, and went to eating ice cream and cakes to release stress. I really like to loose at least 20lbs, I don't know if I have the perseverance and the motivation to do that.

Right now I am taking Metformine, a pill for diabetics, to block all sugar. Hopefully this helps. I asked a cousin who is a doctor if it is safe for me to take it even if I am not diabetic, so as to help out to lose some weight. Fortunately for me he said yes, what it does is it block starch conversion to sugar, and we all know sugar and starch are the culprits in having those big belly and flabby arms. I am also trying not to eat rice at night, and to eat more vegetables. I am also taking Fit n Right juice drink, hopefully to also help me.

But I know, these are all artificial aide, I have to exercise and watch my diet. This is where I always fail, I hate exercise, I feel like I have so many other important things to do than run on the thread mill. But I have to correct that mind set, losing some weight is important for me. I should always put that in mind.

Thankful Tag

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge. Because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary. Because it means you've made a difference.
GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive.Find a way to be thankful for your troubles andthey can become your blessings.
I am sharing the above Thanksgiving message to the following

I chose this one

I know I already posted about Holiday frames a few days ago, but I had to go back and check the site again to choose which one to buy. Ever since I started blogging, i became fond of shopping online, I'm always looking for a great item to buy online. I like shopping online because there are just a lot of things that are surprisingly available on the net. What I like most about shopping online is the convenience, and even the price. Some thought that if you buy online it will cost more, on the contrary a lot of things can be bought very cheap from the internet. One of which is this beautiful frames. I am buying this for my mom, my gift for her this coming Christmas. I hope she likes it. I thinks its whimsical design is very catchy, and hip. She likes cool stuff even if she is already in her fifties.

Premier Bar Stools for a Contemporay Home

I'm surfing the net looking for furnitures. Im particularly looking for a bar stools, for an interior design project. Im in the hunt for sleek, simple yet elegant counter stools when I stumbled on this site Priemere Barstools and I hit the jackpot with this one. Their designs are beautiful, sleek, simple, yet elegant. Exactly what I've been looking for. The best part is that they offer Free Shipping, and most of their items are on discount prices.I found it, the right item, the right design element for my project and is even a discount barstool. This is what I am purchasing for my client . This will lokk great in their breakfast room. The wood is exactly the same shade is their existing table. With some mood lights, the wood and leather will complement the whole interior.

White interior spaces are a commonplace, a custom a convenience. White is the chromatic base par excellence and this is what I have in mind. The project emphasixes the subtle differences between all the contrasting colors. I opted to put diffrent shades of white. Unlike the cold effect of minimalist white, the variations between these tones endow the dwelling warmth. The wood bar stools and black leather complements it.

The kitchen which is right beside the breakfast room, consist of an L-shaped unit thtat includes the sink and the stainless steel hood. With this project I'd like to show that a common, basic color as white is capable of endowing a space with character. The result as I envision it is a comfortable yet warm, an entirely contemporary home.

My Christmas Wishlist | Laptop bag

My bag just broke down 2 days ago, So I really need a new laptop bag. I am looking for something that has the structure to support my laptop, a bag that is well padded, sides and more importantly bottom. I found a lot of local laptop bags that has pads on the side but not on its bottom. Just like my first laptop bag, I always had problem with battery alignment. If I put down the bag with my laptop in it, it the battery sort of got misaligned, no real damage resulted because of this, but it is such a hassle to detach and reattach the battery medium rectangle

Kikay Weekend

Have you ever wondered, what other bonding activities can you do with your daughter. This weekend we tried something really different. It wasn't planned at all. Its like spur of the moment. We went to Mall of Asia, first to go to the PhilConstruct Exhibit. Don't worry I will not talk about that. I know it is a boring topic for moms who are not technical. Believ me, I didn't want to go either, and to think I am an architect. Somehow, being an architect is not who I am anymore, its ort of I can turn away from all of it, just to be a mom. Being a mom is my chosen career for now. (But this is for another post) going back to the story. So after, the exhibit we went to SM Mall of Asia.

We first went to look for a new bed, and before that I had to buy little J some chocholates just to make her stop crying. She's crying because she wants papa (granpa) to come malling with us, but he had to stay in the exhibit. She found a bed she liked, stopped there for a while, me-melk moment. Then, we stopped in the toys section and little j tried out the vtech learning system After hundreds of games, I finally managed to leave the game and go for lunch. We ate at Kenny Rogers, and oh boy, little J liked it. She had 1 1/2 cups of rice, tons of gravy. Really eating with gusto, she loved the gravy and chicken. Then we went back to Depatmen store, while I fill up the forms for internet connection. Little J fitted for shoes. She loves shoes. Unfortunately, we dont like to buy her another one. Mama just bought her new crocs while she was busy playing with the game a few minutes ago. So we told her that there is no size available for her, which is true. So, she ended up crying. I really dont want to ruin our day, because of that. As we rode the escalator down, a quickly thought of making her try some lipstick from those make up stations, just to make her stop crying.

I sat her on those cute bar stool and the saleslady understood exactly what I trying to do as I wipe tears from her face. I didnt even instruct her to do it. She immediately gave little J a make over, just a little blush on, lipstick and sprinkle of bronser. That sis it, she stopped crying and slowly smiled when she saw herself on the mirror. After the make up make over, the enxt station to it is a promo booth for curling/flattening hair iron. So I put her there next and the propmo girl curled her hair. She is so beautiful, the sales ladies are having fun and the shoppers are taking notice too. Most stop and look at her, smiling, whispering sometimes outloud. So cute, so beautiful, pretty baby! It was instant ads for the booths, instant model. Shoppers took notice, little J is getting all the attention and she's loving it.

I really hope I can post the pics here, but my laptops bluetooth is acting crazy I cant transfer the photos from my cellphone. I'll do somthing about it and post the pics soon.

Since I just talked about Ghost in my last post, let's talk about vampires now. In celebration of the movie Twilight, I got to see a preview last night when we watched Madagascar 2. I was reading earthly explorations blogs and this post about vampires caught my eye. One because, I just saw twilight trailer, Two because Brad Pitt is on the pictures. She was asking, if we were to choose who will bite me, I'll take Brad Pitt. I didn't realize that most vampires were played by gorgeus actors, such as Brad Pitt. Visit earthlyexplorations to find out who are the others as good looking as Brad that took the part of a Vampire.

Some circular white thingy. Some of the comments say its not orbs only dust. Some say it is spooky, believing they are ghosts. What about you? Do you believe in orbs as ghosts? Visit earthly explorations to check on the pictures.

Madagascar 2: The First Movie that little J watched all though out

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa brings back the best elements of Madagascar, including the familiar critters: Alex the lion (Ben Stiller), Marty the zebra (Chris Rock), Gloria the hippo (Jada Pinkett-Smith), Melman the giraffe (David Schwimmer), the loony lemur, King Julien (Sacha Baron Cohen). Even little Mort, the world's most adorable animated lemur (you know you just want to pet his little head every time you see him on screen), returns for more adventures. Building on the characters we grew to love in Madagascar, the writers have added a herd of new creatures who are just as fully fleshed out and entertaining.

In fact, in many ways Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa is a better movie than Madagascar. The first film established the personality of each of the animated animals so now the writers are free to leap right into the story. The friendship between the four Central Park refugees is stronger after having spent time away from the comfy confines of the zoo. The old 'home is where your heart is' adage comes into play. And there's even a budding romance featured in Madagascar 2, which is sweet to watch develop (no matter your age). Plus, this one's got striking monkeys demanding pregnancy leave, more screen time for King Julien, and the return of the New York granny who kicks furry butt like Jet Li on steroids.

The Story

Madagascar sequel picks up right where the 2005 film left off, with the Central Park Zoo animals preparing to leave Madagascar to return to the Big Apple. Attempting to prove penguins can fly, the tuxedoed dudes pieced together a plane and now Alex and company, along with King Julien and his 2nd in charge, Maurice, believe they're on the way back to New York City. But penguins, as we soon discover, are not qualified to be airplane mechanics.
The plane crash lands in Africa which turns out to be the best place on the planet for our NY gang to wind up – if they can't make it back to the States. Their plummet to earth couldn't have worked out better if it'd been planned. The four zoo buddies, the penguin posse, and the lemur duo find themselves face to face with wild animals of their own kind. And for Alex, this unexpected detour is actually a homecoming. The king of the lions, Zuba (Bernie Mac), and his mate (voiced by Sherri Shepherd) turn out to be Alex's real parents.

Everyone's happy to finally get to know members of their own species in the wild, but the reunion between Alex and his parents doesn't please all members of the pride. Makunga (Alec Baldwin) has long wanted to replace Zuba as the leader, and the return of the city-raised Alex provides him with just the right opening to make his move...

Bottom Line
Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa has a slightly less harried pace about it, while being just as hilarious as the original movie. My personal favorite is the grannie, I call her Rambo Grannie, she's strong enough to fight off Alex. Smart and witty to lead the whole commmunity of New Yorkers lost in the jungle. The plot's involved enough to keep adults engaged while not alienating youngsters, and the overall look of the movie is breathtakingly gorgeous. I like that there is always some dance routine or singing in between serious scenes. My 3yr old daughter who hates watching movies in theaters because of the loud sounds stays put on my lap and enjoyed the whole movie. This is the first time that happened. On our veru first movie Shrek3, although it is as entertaining, she kept quiet and almost cried, because of the louad sounds. While watching Kung Fu Panda, she slept half off the movie so an to relax her. Dark places and lous sounds doesnt really etertain my daughter, its such a bad combination for her. But with this movie, since there are a lot of "You've got to move it! Move it!" She watched the whole movie.

Zenni Optical

Since I am looking for Christmas Gifts, I am scouting for a Great Eyeglasses For Less. I am eyeing some new eyeglasses for my mom, something really nice. Something hip and fashionable. I was able to catch some new styles of eyeglasses while watching the news. Its so nice that Zenni Optical was on FOX news!. They are so cute, something chic but still decent for an eyeglass. Nothing too funky that will make my mom looks like she's trying too much to be hip and cool, just nice. They have Variable Dimension Frames From Zenni, which is just right, there are a lot of designs to choose from. I just wish I can find the Zenni on Fox here. This frame reminds me of Madagascar 2. Isin't it cute?

How to earn from paid blogging

I recently joined a forum called Smart Parenting and in that forum someone, in fact a lot ask me on how I do paid blogging. So instead to emailing each and everyone of them, I decided to just post it here. First of all, I am not an expert, I just started too, but on my first month I earned $300, not so much compared to other moms, but its a lot for me already. I will write how I earned that first $300. Please read on to learn how to do paid blogging.

First Create a Blog,
So you already have a topic in mind and a possible title for your website. It's now time to meet Mr. Blogger. Log on to and the site would walk you through 3 easy steps on how to make a blog:

1) CREATE AN ACCOUNT - blogger will ask you to fill out a form asking you about your personal information

2) NAME YOUR BLOG - a part in which you need to put a title for your site. Blogger will inform you if the name of the blog you picked is already taken and would give you some title suggestions which is closer to the title you first selected.

3) CHOOSE A TEMPLATE - blogger does have a dozen of templates that you could use. You can select whatever template would suit the website you want to create. You could customize your site by downloading free blogger templates available on the internet but I suggest you first use those default template until such time you are already familiar with blogger software.

after prompting you to select a template...blogger will ask you if you already want to create a post (or blog entry) and once you click the link... you will now be creating your first blog post. I suggest you make your first entry as an introduction page. Tell your readers about yourself and what you want to achieve in making your blog. Through this, readers would know more about you and what drive you to create your website.

You have to write actively on your blog, most paid blogging site doesnt accept blogs the has very few post and no traffic. To create traffic for your site, visit other blogs and comments, you can also link then in your blogroll and ask for exlinks. After a month or two, your blog should have a decent traffic already and most paid blogging site will approve your blogs. Here are some of the sites I joined, to earn that precious moolah. Click on the images to to register.

Click Advertise on My Blog

Another way to earn moolah, write reviews!

looks like the image link is not working, so here is the link for you to join in!
